The BLS certification course is primarily geared towards first-line healthcare and rescue professionals. These are people who are typically the first to arrive on the scene of a cardiac arrest. This means that this course is ideal for prehospital providers, like EMTs, paramedics, firefighters, and in-facility hospital providers. However, the BLS certification course is also open to anyone who wants to be equipped with the right information on how to save a life if a cardiac emergency occurs. Upon successful completion of the course, all students receive a course completion card. This card is valid for two years.
The EKG (Electrocardiogram) Technician course is for the beginner student interested in the medical field. This course consists of thirteen lessons (13-week course) and is a fully distance education course. At the completion of this course, the successful graduate will be able to find a position as an EKG Technician. Electrocardiogram (ECG or EKG) by definition, it involves monitoring and recording electrical impulses transmitted by the heart. This course includes important practice and background information on the anatomy and physiology of the heart, medical disease processes, medical terminology, medical ethics, legal aspects of patient contact, and electrocardiography.
All of our phlebotomy training classes are comprehensive and emphasizes a “hands-on” method – each student will draw blood several times in each class. These draws will be performed with the supervision of other class members. Our instructors will guide you as you learn a variety of phlebotomy techniques. In addition, you will learn the “tricks of the trade” that will help with special patients and difficult draws. Our 6 or 8-week program provides the student with skills and training in order to succeed as a phlebotomist. This course contains lecture discussion and practical instruction. Once the course has completed a Certificate of Completion will be provided as a certified Phlebotomy Technician.
The IV Workshop is for the returning phlebotomy student or a current student with equivalent field experience/training. This course emphasizes a “hands-on” method. This course is a 6-hour course that will focus on current IV administration techniques, as well as fluid balance, medications, complications, and effects of IV therapy.After completing the workshop, students will be issued an IV Workshop certificate.
